The Marvin Menzies Sixth Man Open presented by White Sands Federal Credit Union celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. The fundraising golf tournament is a scramble format, Aug. 29, with a noon shotgun start at Picacho Hills Country Club.

The four-person event is a random draw. Teams consist of one player from the “A” group, “B” group, “C” group and “D” group. The pairing party for this social event is Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. at Picacho Hills Country Club. The pairing party also offers participants a great opportunity to meet the 2013-14 Aggie men’s basketball team and a chance to hear coach Menzies give an update on the upcoming season.

The field is limited to 128 players or 32 teams. Prize breakdown for the tournament is:
First place-$700/per player
Second place- $500/per player
Third place-$300/per player
Fourth place-$200/per player
Fifth place-$100/per player

To wrap up the tournament, one golfer will qualify to putt a 50-feet putt for a grand prize of $10,000. All prizes are in-kind merchandise provided by many of our sponsors. This major fundraiser for the Aggie men’s basketball team provides all participants an opportunity to support the Aggies and play in a competitive event.

To enter this event, please contact tournament chair Jack Hokkanen at 575-312-6129 or the men’s basketball office at 575-646-1447.
