NBA Draft Preview: UTEP's Stone Could Get Drafted

Several local prospects are hoping to hear their named called tomorrow night in New Jersey at the 2011 NBA Draft.  New Mexico State's Troy Gillenwater and UTEP's Randy Culpepper are expected to be passed on the draft, in fact ,Gillenwater withdrew his name from the NBA Draft, but will not return to NMSU.  Gillenwater will likely play overseas next season.  Several mock drafts have the Los Angeles Lakers taking former UTEP Point Guard Julyan Stone in the second round with the 58th overall pick.

According to nbadraft.net, Stone is the 54th best prospect, while Randy Culpepper is the 87th best prospect. 

The 2011 NBA Draft starts Thursday, June 23 at 6:00pm MT and will take place in Newark, New Jersey.
