Most of Cowboys Starters Likely to Sit Out
The Dallas Cowboys starters will not play much, if at all, Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins in the final NFL Preseason game. The Cowboys are 2-2, and have not looked consistent on offense or defense, but Head Coach Wade Phillips said that is not an excuse to play starters for one series. Stephen McGee will start at Quarterback for the Dallas offense.
"I know a lot of people are talking about that," Phillips said. "We are not going to play our starters overall very much, if any. In a few cases they'll play some, but we will play a lot of guys in this ballgame that I think are going to make a difference in our team this year, and also guys that are on the border of making or not making the football team."
Rookie receiver Dez Bryant has stated that he will play Thursday night, though the coach is not so sure. "Let me see what he does in practice and how he looks and we'll just go from there," Phillips said. "I would like to see him play with the first group if he's going to play, but overall that wouldn't happen, so that's another determining factor."
