Miners picked to finish last in West

UCF and Houston are favored to advance to the Conference USA Football Championship game in a preseason poll by media panelists.

Conference USA does not conduct its own preseason poll but the media put together its own poll. Eric Bailey of the Tulsa World administered the poll and the panel included one print reporter and one radio representative from each of the 12 C-USA universities.

UCF received 20 first place votes for the East and Southern Miss received the other four. Houston had 12 first place votes in the West with Tulsa receiving eight and SMU receiving the other four.

UTEP was picked to finish last in the C-USA West, tied with Tulane.
