The New Mexico State men’s golf team travels to Houston, Texas this week for the Bayou City Collegiate Championship, hosted by the University of Houston and Rice University. The tournament will take place at the par 72, 6,982-yards, Redstone Golf Club, Feb. 22-24.

Justin Shin, Kenneth Fadke, Derek Baade, Brett Walker and Willy Hogan will represent the Aggies this coming weekend. The tournament will be played in 18-hole rounds each day.

“I think this is a great tournament for our team and Redstone is a fantastic golf course,” head coach Mike Dirks said. “The field will be very strong, including some top ranked teams and conference opponents. This is about us getting a little bit better each week. We have had some good practices and are really driving the ball well off the tee.”

NM State will take on six ranked teams and three conference opponents; Houston, Rice, Baylor, Charlotte, Chattanooga, East Carolina, Houston Baptist, Indiana, Lamar, Louisiana Tech, South Carolina, UT Arlington and UTSA.

Results can be found at www.golfstat.com for live scoring or at www.NMStateSports.com following each round of play.
