Local Boxers prepare for Golden Gloves Tournament

Sports
Thursday, February 14, 2013 - 7:26pm

About 200 local boxers will try their hand at the regional Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament at the El Paso Coliseum this weekend.  Bouts begin at 7:00pm Friday, 3:00pm Saturday and Sunday at the Coliseum.  Hear from first time Golden Gloves participant Bianca Castillo from Pound 4 Pound boxing in East El Paso.  Organizers say they are one of the largest boxing clubs represented at the Golden Gloves.

Bianca Castillo: I am definitely excited, a little nervous but really excited. You know, we have all been working hard here at Pound 4 Pound, and I am confident in myself and my teammates, all we have to do is to step in the ring, give it 100% and give it all we got, and take it from there. I am expecting to learn from it, win or lose, it doesn't matter.
