Two boxers from the Las Cruces PAL Boxing Gym have been selected to participate in a USA Boxing sanctioned match during the 2012 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl pre-game festivities at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Monday January 2, 2012.

Ayanna Vasquez, age 17 of Las Cruces, NM who is a nine-time national champion, will fight Brianna Richardson from Tucson, Arizona in the 119 lb. open division.

Edmund Guzman, age 16, of Las Cruces, NM who is the 2011 USA Junior Olympics State Champion for New Mexico, will fight Francisco C Be Vaca from Las Vegas, NM in the 119 lb. open division.

Vasquez is a Senior at Las Cruces High School and Guzman is a Junior at Onate High School. Both Vasquez and Guzman are heavily featured in a documentary film called "Let's Shine" which is scheduled to make it's television premiere on January 1st at 8 p.m. on CLC-TV Comcast Channel 20 (in Las Cruces). The film will also be streamed live on CLCTV.com for those who live outside of Las Cruces or don't have Comcast cable.

The Fiesta Bowl is a BCS college football bowl game that will feature two top nationally ranked teams in #3 Stanford Cardinals vs. #4 Oklahoma State University Cowboys. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.
