Lakers Defeat Suns, Boston Up Next in NBA Finals, Plus U.S. Soccer Victorious

Saturday, May 29:  The Los Angeles Lakers have a chance to defend their NBA World Championship against a familiar foe.  The Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns, 111-103 in game 6 of the Western Conference Finals for their third consecutive berth in the NBA Finals. Kobe Bryant scored 37 points, Ron Artest had 25, and the Lakers beat the Suns 4-2 in the Conference Finals.  Game 1 of the NBA Finals will be Thursday in Los Angeles.  For the 12th time since the Lakers moved to Los Angeles, they will meet the Celtics for the NBA championship.
