Friday, April 16:  The Franklin Cougars Baseball team defeated the defending State Champs, Socorro, 8-1 today at Chris Forbes Field in Socorro.  Ian Ekery pitched a gem for Franklin, who improves to 8-2 in district, 20-6 overall.  Socorro walked three in the first inning, and after a hit batter with the bases loaded, it was obvious it was not their day.  Socorro falls to 7-4 in district, 21-5 overall.  Franklin will take on Hanks on Tuesday, in what should determine first place in district.
