Oñate High School football endured a 2-8 season in 2010, and after 14 years of leadership from Kelly McKee, including a 4A State Championship in 2002, it was time for a change. Thursday, Oñate High School announced the hiring of Caleb Hull as the Black Knights new head coach. The 32-year old Hull is a graduate of New Mexico State University, where he holds three degrees, and has recently been an Assistant Coach at Las Cruces High School from 2008-2010. Hull was the Defensive and Offensive Line coach, along with Special teams coach, with the Bulldawgs.
"I am built into this community, and as long as I have been here, there is talent here at Oñate, and a lot of kids that way to work hard, and want to find some new stuff. So when the opportunity came for me to come out here, and try to make a difference in those young men's lives, I thought it would be the right opportunity," said Hull.
