Horizon Hires New Football Coach

Wednesday, April 21:  Coming off the best season in school history, Horizon High School announced today the hiring of David Telas as the Scorpions new Head Football Coach.  Telas comes to Horizon from Del Valle High School where he was the Offensive Coordinator.  Last season, Del Valle averaged 34.3 Points Per Game, and under Telas, Senior Quarterback Jordan Baeza was 211-337, for 3,435 yards and 37 touchdowns.  Del Valle rushed for 1,453 yards and 18 touchdowns.  In 2009, Robert Morales led Horizon to a 6-4 overall record, 3-4 in district 2-4A, just one win away from a playoff spot.  Morales resigned in early February after six seasons with the Scorpions.
