Homecoming is Sweet as UTEP Beats Up on Rice

UTEP's Senior Quarterback Trevor Vittatoe became UTEP's all-time leading passer, as the Miners defeated Rice, 44-24, to improve to 5-1 on the season. Vittatoe threw for 327 yards and 3 touchdowns on 19-32 attempts, passing Jordan Palmer as the school's all-time passer. Donald Buckram led the Miners on the ground with 9 carries for 47 yards. The big day was turned in by receiver Kris Adams, who finished with 5 receptions for 134 yards and two scores. UTEP will play at UAB next Saturday.
