UPDATED: Tuesday, December 4, 2012 - 7:36pm

The #2 Las Cruces Bulldawgs will face #4 Sandia Friday, December 7 at Wilson Stadium in Albuquerque for the 5A State Championship. Las Cruces is 11-1, while Sandia is 9-3 overall. The Bulldawgs are looking for their 7th state championship in school history in their first apperance since 2008, while Sandia is making only their third apperance in the State Championship game, their first appearance since 1977.

"The kids understand, this was their goal, they got to the show, now they have to go and do it, they are not going to give it to us. We have to go and take it, and make sure we prepare well. This is the best week that we need to prepare the best ever," said head coach Jim Miller, who will be looking for his 5th State Championship as head coach.  Senior Linebacker Paul Aguirre added, "This is exciting, we want to get coach Miller that fifth ring that he keeps bugging us about, just want to get it for him."

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm Friday at Wilson Stadium in Albuquerque.
