Preseason Fine 9 Football Teams: #3 Franklin

High School Football

POSTED: Monday, August 27, 2012 - 5:34pm

UPDATED: Thursday, August 30, 2012 - 9:29am

Watch out restaurants, Franklin offensive lineman could be coming your way!  With several mammoth offensive lineman, Franklin High School football ranks #3 in our Fine 9, the top high school football teams in the borderland.  Franklin returns 11 starters from last year's 10-2,8-0 season, along with a roster of 36 seniors, the Cougars are loaded.

"The strength is definitely our senior class, we have a lot of skill guys back, and a couple of lineman back, and our senior class is as solid as we have ever had, so we're proud of those guys and the way they work, so I think they will give us great leadership throughout the season," said Head Coach Daren Walker.  Senior Linebacker Jackson Glenewinkle said, "You know, we are all on the same page, and that really helps with us getting wins, and that's the ultimate goal."  Senior Offensive Lineman Derek Elmendorff added, "the talent on this team is remarkable, and we should be able to make something special if we can come together. We are very excited to get this season rolling and just excited about this upcoming season."

This Friday, Franklin opens the season in Midland versus San Angelo Central.

the game is in san angelo as of 2 weeks ago..

to bad your research of the team doesn't reflect in your prediction.. this is 85% the same team that beat your number 1 team (montwood with no varsity experience on the offensive line) by 21 points last year. that is why more people watch borderland blitz on kvia.
