What a way to go out!  Adonis Powell, a senior at Hanks High School, finished up his high school career with a bang, rushing 35 times for 416 yards and six touchdowns in a victory over Eastwood.  Powell also passed for a 5-yard touchdown, earning this week's Academy Sports Player of the Week Honor.

"I have actually never had a game like that, not on the varsity level, maybe back on JV, but it was a good game, played hard, knew it was the last game of the season, left it all on the field, it's great, especially against Eastwood, our biggest rival. We knew we weren't going to make it to playoffs, so this was a playoff caliber game, so we really wanted this win."

For the 2011 season, Powell has 1,785 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns rushing, adding 24 receptions for 234 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for a touchdown.  He told Newschannel 9 that UTEP has shown interest in recruiting him.
