The Montwood Rams fell to Midland Lee, 42-0, last Friday night at the Student Activities Complex.  It was a tough week for the Rams, not just on the field.  Head Coach Chuck Veliz lost his mother, Dolores Veliz, and was away from the team most of the week.  Veliz said he and the team were just not prepared for the season opener.  The Rams' players wanted to dedicate the game to Dolores, a 'team mom" who was at every game, and looked over the players.  The Rams put her initials on their helmets in honor of her.  "To keep her in our hearts, and to know she is always with us. She loved to go to our games, so she can still be with us," said Senior Running Back Tim Rocha.  Head Coach Chuck Veliz added, "The boys wanted to dedicate last week's game to her, and it was a nice gesture but I think we tried to do too much last week, a lot of emotions and a lot of different things, and it was a rough week all around."
