McShane Our Academy Sports Player of the Week

High School Football

POSTED: Tuesday, October 5, 2010 - 5:48pm

UPDATED: Tuesday, October 5, 2010 - 6:37pm

This week, Franklin High School's Sean McShane was named the Academy Sports Player of the Week.  McShane scored four touchdowns in the 38-18 victory over Bel Air Friday night, and in what might be the most dominate offensive performance, McShane had 347 total yards in the win.  On the season, McShane has nine total touchdowns for the 5-1 Franklin Cougars.

"He had a great performance, but I guess all the accolades go to his teammates because they did a great job for him, creating space for him to run in, but he did a fantastic job," said Head Coach Daren Walker.  Sean McShane spoke about his relationship with Junior Quarterback Brandon Layne.  "Oh yeah definitely, he's only a junior, but ever since I met him, he has been a good guy and he works really hard in practice, and we built really good chemistry since we have been here at Franklin."

Friday, October 8, Montwood will host Franklin, 7:00pm at the SAC.
