Hanks has a new head football coach in longtime city assistant Kevin Jones in 2014.  Jones takes over for Jeff Cleveland, who took a job in Commerce.  Jones comes with tons of experience, having been an assistant at Coronado and Ysleta for the past decade.  He inherits a Hanks team with solid talent, and ready to get back to the playoffs after a 4-6 season in 2013.

"You know what, it's been a longtime coming but it's been a real short time to get prepared. We just got our helmets this morning, so hit the ground running, and you know what, I am real excited about the season. I think we have a lot of talent, it's just a matter of putting it together and pointing them in the right direction and letting them take care of itself and see if we're playing the 12th week of the season," said Jones.

Hanks will compete in the new District 2-5A, which will closely resemble District 2-4A last season... 7:00pm Friday, August 29, Hanks will host Jefferson to open the 2014 season.
