Huskies Rolling Along Before Matchup with Andress

High School Football

POSTED: Tuesday, October 16, 2012 - 6:02pm

UPDATED: Tuesday, October 16, 2012 - 6:35pm

The Chapin Huskies are 6-1 overall, 4-0 in District 1-4A, and will host rival Andress 7:00pm Friday at Irvin Memorial Stadium.  Chapin has won six straight games since their season opening 38-14 loss to Las Cruces.  The Huskies have a ton of weapons, led by Quarterback Seth Gonzales, Running Backs Ricky Williams and Geremiah Satele, and receiver Jaylen Addison, but don't forget about this defense, allowing only 11.2 points per game in their last six games.  The offense has averaged 40 PPG.

Head Coach Rene Hernandez said of the team, "The kids have really picked things up, the offense has really started to click, defense has played well all season. We knew that if we have both sides of the ball playing well, it would really benefit each side, but we're pleased, but never satisfied."  Receiver Jaylen Addison added about the game Friday vs Andress.  "One hundred percent, flying to the ball, just get after it and hopefully come out with a win on top."
