Franklin vs S.A. Central in our Chevrolet NC9 Overtime Game of the Week

High School Football
Thursday, September 2, 2010 - 10:57pm

In our Chevrolet NC9 Overtime Game of the Week, The Franklin Cougars are celebrating a huge win over Oñate last friday night. However it will be short lived as they welcome a much tougher opponent when San Angelo Central comes to town.

Cougar's head coach Daren Walker believes his squad is up to the test, "They are going to come down here and try to send a message to El Paso and we're going to try to represent Franklin, our program, and we're looking forward to the challenge, and excited about the opportunity."

"I expect it to be a good game, a lot of tough calls and tough plays," said Franklin Senior offensive lineman Rafael Hinojos, "but I think with our team, we'll be good."

Franklin boasts over two dozen seniors which means leadership is in no short supply. But with plenty of Sophomores and Juniors starting for the Cougars, their team is relatively young.

One thing is for sure, it will be a battle come Friday night at Thunderbird Stadium.
