The Canutillo Eagles hope for a district 2-4A title in 2011, after finishing 2nd to Del Valle a year ago.  The Eagles still think the championship goes through the Conquistadors, who defeated Canutillo, 23-3 last season.  Canutillo finished 2010 with a 7-4,5-1 record.  Luckily for Canutillo and devastating for the rest of the district, all-district running back Shane King (1600 yds, 16 TD) returns for his senior season.

"Well, Shane is deceptively fast, he's a slasher. He makes runs when you think he is not getting anything out of it, he gets 40 yards, and very few plays have him stuck in the backfield. He always gets positive yards, he catches the ball well so we're going to try to spread him out a little more," said Head Coach Scott Brooks.  Shane King added on his offseason workouts and hopes for this season, "Just work hard, trying to get a good season again, get more yards, and district champs."

Canutillo opens the season on the road at Coronado, Friday August 26.  Canutillo's new field is expected to be ready in mid-September.  The turf field will be blue.
