Coronado, Eastlake win big on a soggy Thursday

KTSM
High School Football
Thursday, September 12, 2013 - 10:59pm

The heavy rains let up Thursday just in time for Coronado and Eastlake to register blow out victories on opposite sides of El Paso to kick off Week 2.

The T-Birds used a 95-yard interception returned for a touchdown late in the second quarter by Tim Black for a 21-7 halftime lead over Chapin and did not let up in the second half getting the 45-7 win. The Huskies open the year on a tough 0-3 skid.

Eastlake bounced back from a 3-point loss in Week 1 to Andress in a big way scoring 44 points on Riverside and holding the Rangers to 16 points at the Student Activities Center.

Thursday was scheduled to have three high school games, however weather rescheduled Santa Teresa vs Irvin to Saturday at 2pm.

Tune in to NC9 Overtime Friday nights at 10:15!
