The Coronado High School Football team has been pressed early this season, and after the stunning loss of all-star running back Sam Brown to an intestinal illness, the injuries keep piling up. Tonight, Quarterback/Receiver all-everything Cole Freytag was lost to a injured hand, so the backups had to step up. Backup Quarterback Albert Monzon, who really shares the duties with Freytag 50-50, scored late in the fourth quarter for a 14-5 victory over Americas. The Trailblazers fought valiantly, with a stunning defense that kept Coronado scoreless in the second and third quarters. Coronado's defense was just as brilliant, stifling Americas RB Jack Fields all night long. Coronado improves to 2-1, 1-0, Americas falls to 2-1, 1-1.
