The Burges Mustangs have run roughshod over El Paso football teams, compiling a long list of victories to open the season. Burges is 5-0 after defeating Mountain View (28-19), Cathedral (35-7), Riverside (37-20), Andress (14-7), and Austin (54-33).

Head Coach Marcus Graham is enjoying the spirit associated with the squad. "The team is excited, the community is excited. Our whole goal is to get everybody involved, the kids are really playing hard, and this is all for them." Senior Offensive Lineman Eric Gonzalez added, "we know the season is not over yet, we are 5-0, and that's a good start, but we also know we have five more weeks left in the regular season, so it's been cool watching around the school and seeing the people that have come out to support us more."

7:00pm Friday, Burges hosts Jefferson on Homecoming.
