The final week of high school football's regular season got off to a good start for a trio of Borderland teams.

Montwood eliminated Eastwood's playoff chances by beating the Troopers 21-0.  Franklin and El Dorado got into a wild game at Coronado High School that the Cougars finally won with a solid fourth quarter 47-34.  Finally, in Las Cruces Onate prevailed against Alamogordo 33-28.

There is a full schedule of high school games on Friday including Mayfield playing Las Cruces high at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

El Paso high schools will play into the weekend with a triple-header at the Sun Bowl.
