Carlsbad and Las Cruces both have records of 8-2. Neither team is district champion. Carlsbad beat Mayfield, but Las Cruces lost when they played Mayfield. In addition, Las Cruces beat Artesia by only four points, while Carlsbad defeated Artesia in a romp (48-21). It boggles the mind that Las Cruces should be ranked so high (even winning a first-round bye)and Carlsbad so low. These rankings don't appear to be fair or equitable. Shame on the NMAA for such blatant favoritism!!
