The soccer season is well underway for the school boys, and no team has had it harder than Franklin High School. Tuesday night, Franklin retired the jersey's of brothers Luis and Andres Garcia, who were killed in a car crash in June. Luis, was a recent graduate of Franklin while Andres graduated in 2009, both team captains.

Head Coach Gilbert Montes said the emotional summer is still felt on the soccer field this winter. "This season is dedicated to them, and it's still hard for us... Many of the players... We just have to take it one stride at a time." Junior midfielder Francisco Almeida said, "They were always playing, they were really good players, we looked up to them, always trying hard every single practice and they always played good." Junior defender Caesar Ramirez added, "It's important to all of us, and we all agreed to do that... We care about them... We all miss them."
