Haskins Misses, Hayes Makes Cut at Golf Tournaments

Saturday, May 29: El Paso's Steve Haskins, son of the late Don Haskins, missed the cut Friday at the Senior PGA Tour Championship. Haskins was +15 in the tournament, misses the cut by eight strokes. Former UTEP Miner J.P. Hayes made the cut at The Colonial in Fort Worth, and in today's third round, Hayes shot a 3-under part 67 to move from 49th to a tie for 38th place. Brian Davis had his second consecutive bogey-free 65 on Saturday while Bryce Molder, the second-round leader, shot 67 to put them both at 16-under 194 going into the final round at the Colonial, where the champion gets a plaid jacket along with a check of more than $1
million.
