Friday, June 11:  The Hanks football team is set to host their annual 7-on-7 football tournament this weekend at Excalibur Stadium at Hanks High School.  The champion and the runner-up will advance to the Texas 7-on-7 State Championships to be held July 9 in College Station on the campus of Texas A&M.  Coronado and Chapin are heading to the State Championships, after Coronado defeated Chapin in the Huskies 7-on-7 tournament last month.  The Chapin tournament was a brand new event, meaning 4 teams will advance to the State Championships instead of 2.  Hanks Head Coach Jeff Cleveland supports the idea of 2 7-on-7 tournaments in El Paso.  "Well I think it is a good deal because it will provide an opportunity for a couple of other teams to go. You know, one of the great things about our tournament this year is that the El Paso Sports Commission is our title sponsor, and the kids get a catered lunch from Fudruckers and t-shirts."
