Han Media Day Open to Public
Sports
Wednesday, June 6, 2012 - 2:43pm

The media and public is cordially invited to the media day of Abie Han (16-0, 10 KO's) of El Paso, TX, on Thursday, June 7th at 2 p.m. at the Sammy Burke Youth Boxing Center located at 700 N. Solano in Las Cruces. This will be a great opportunity to get interviews, photos and video of Han training for his upcoming fight against Joe Gomez (18-5-1, 8 KO's) of Bloomfield, New Mexico. The fight will be on June 16th at the El Paso Sun Bowl, on the undercard of the Julio Chavez Jr. vs. Andy Lee fight which will be televised live on HBO.

The Sammy Burke Youth Boxing Center is home to the Las Cruces Police Athletic League (PAL) Boxing Club, a program that takes at-risk youth off the streets and teaches them discipline through boxing. During the media day event, Las Cruces PAL will also be selling dvd copies of the feature length documentary on Las Cruces PAL Boxing called "Let's Shine." All proceeds will go back to the Las Cruces PAL Boxing Club.
