Han Family Running Texas State Championships

Sports
Wednesday, May 19, 2010 - 6:54pm

Wednesday, May 19:  The Han Family has won hundreds of title, and now they are aiming for more at the Texas State Championships.  Jennifer Han is running the event, this Friday-Sunday at the El Paso Coliseum.  The event will feature the entire Han family - older brother A.B. will coach at the event, while 22-year old Israel (Izzy) Han will fight in the 165-pound weight class.  Twin sisters Stephanie and Heather will compete as well, hoping to win a state championship, earn a berth into nationals and then, if all goes well, earn a berth into the 2012 Olympics. Jennifer Han said, "This is the state championships, not only the Junior olympics, the senior open fighters, so my sisters and Izzy will all be competing. This is the biggest texas championships we have ever had." Izzy Han added, "Texas has a lot of national champions, over 40 in all divisions, and in open."
