The New Mexico State men's golf team will open its 2013 spring season at the Arizona Intercollegiate, Jan. 28-29, at The Golf Club at Vistoso. The 2013 Arizona Intercollegiate is a 54-hole event, which will be contested at Vistoso, a par 71, 6,932-yard layout.

Thirty-six holes will be played on Monday, Jan. 28 with continuous play scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. MST. The final 18 holes will start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

NM State will travel Justin Shin, Brett Walker, Derek Baade, Willy Hogan and Kenneth Fadke II.

Three of the teams in the field of 15 are ranked in the current Nike/Golf World Coaches Poll and seven teams are ranked in the top 80 places of the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, which includes (ranking): Arizona State (72), California (1), Cal State Fullerton, Central Arkansas, Kennesaw State (53), Liberty (18), New Mexico (4), New Mexico State, Pepperdine, Santa Clara, TCU (46), UC-Riverside, Utah, UTEP and host Arizona (79).
