Glory Road part 2: UTEP set to play Kentucky in 2016
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — UTEP head coach Tim Floyd announced to a crowd of over 700 at the UTEP Basketball Tip Off Luncheon that UTEP has reached an agreement to play The University of Kentucky in a rematch of the famous 1966 NCAA Championship game.
Floyd said that he spoke with Kentucky coach John Calipari on the phone and they have agreed to a 50th Anniversary rematch of the infamous NCAA Championship matchup.
The rematch, tentatively scheduled for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in 2016 would be held in College Park, Maryland.
