Franklin Playing for Outright Championship

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 - 6:01pm

Franklin versus Montwood has been the marquee matchup all season long and now game week is finally here. The stakes are similar but also different. Montwood must win to win at least a share of a district title, while a win for the Cougars would mean they are one very big step closer to a second consecutive outright district title.

"If we lose to them there is a possible three way for district so hopefully we can get out there and get after them," said Franklin Senior defensive end Devin Houx.

Cougars head coach Daren Walker added, "It's for the district championship. I know every week is but this is a big one for us. Montwood is great competition and they think they can get a piece of the championship so we know we will get their A-game. Our kids have to be prepared to play well if we are going to have a chance."

It is our NC9 Overtime Southwest Urgent Care Game of the Week.
