On November 5th six of El Paso’s top professional golfers will participate in the 2nd Annual CF Jordan Skins Game benefiting The First Tee of Greater El Paso.

Victorious in last year’s event, current PGA Tour Members JP Hayes and Paul Stankowski will re-join with Chris Baryla to take on newcomers Gerina Mendoza (LPGA Tour Member), Scott Lieberwirth (UTEP’s new Golf Coach), and Steve Haskins, the Nationwide Tour/Champions Tour Member who was unable to play last year due to a scheduling conflict.

The golfers will provide a Skills Clinic at 1:00 pm, followed by a 9-hole skins game starting at 2:00 pm. The family-friendly event will take place at Butterfield Trail Golf Course and is open to the public. Admission is free to ages 18 and under, $5 for Seniors and with a military ID, $10 in advance and $15 at the door. A VIP Reception will be held following the Skins Game. VIP pricing for entry and reception is $50 in advance and $75 at the door.

“Last year, we had a great event and we’re hoping this year will be bigger and better. The guys all had a lot of fun playing and we’re excited to bring in three new players,” said Kristi Albers. “The First Tee is an all-around youth development program—it’s not just golf skills. We make the golf lessons fun and age-appropriate, but more importantly, we teach our participants the 9 Core Values and Healthy Habits™ that will help make them successful in every aspect of their life. This year, we launched our National School Program in EPISD and will reach over 10,000 elementary students. One of our goals for this event is to secure funding to expand in other districts.”

Thank you to confirmed sponsors to date: CF Jordan Construction; hole sponsors: Jack in the Box, A-1 Roofing, and Brewski's; clinic sponsors: State Farm Insurance - Eric Fierro, Great American Land & Cattle. Sponsorships are still available.

The event also will raise awareness for The First Tee of Greater El Paso, which offers programming at Ascarate Golf Course and Underwood Golf Course (part of its Military Affiliate Program) and Butterfield Trail Golf Course as well as a pilot National School Program in El Paso Independent School District. First Tee programs are offered to children ages 5 to 18 and include life skills, Healthy Habits, and the 9 Core Values (courtesy, judgment, honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility and perseverance) in each golf lesson.

This year, pairings will be decided by voting online at the organization’s Facebook page.
