Faith Christian Academy Starts Season Undefeated with New Coach, Players

Sports

POSTED: Tuesday, December 6, 2011 - 6:48pm

UPDATED: Wednesday, January 4, 2012 - 6:18pm

The Faith Christian Academy Boys Basketball team has started the 2011-12 season 6-0, and will host San Elizario 7:00pm Tonight.  Last Year FCA had a promising season with transfers and a new coach in Zack Karam.  Karam has left, and back for her 11th year is Ana Carroll.  Carroll coached at FCA from 1999-2010, winning two state championships in 2009 and 2010.  She is an experienced coach who took a year off in 2010-11.  But now she is back, and with a new talented group who have been together for over a year now, Carroll is excited to coach this talented team.

"I think the fact that they love each other, and have been playing together in AAU has a lot to do with it, and basically they are obedient kids, hard working kids, and they have had a bad rap because they are transfers, but they are good boys. Bottom line is that at the end of the day, they put on their pants one leg at a time like everybody else, and work hard like everybody else, they just have a little more talent", said Carroll.

Hey Coach Carrol, is it true that all you players transfered form el Dorado (after the illegally recruitingn scandal that cost coach Ron Vicencio his job) are going to be allowed to play for Juarez High Schools in a Chihuahua State tournament late Juanuary 2012?

There is a lot of media specualtion down in Chihuahua about those kids, most of them lied to Disctrict authorities during the El Dorado investigation.

how FCA will allow thier players to skip classes and play for a Juarez school?
