EPCC baseball and softball players earn awards

El Paso Community College (EPCC) Tejanos baseball and Tejanas softball teams have received regional and national awards from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Sophomore, Eudor Garcia was named the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) Most Valuable Player for 2014. Eudor set many Tejanos records including total bases-165, home runs-14, batting average-.460 and slugging percentage-.873. His overall play also earned him WJCAC All-Conference and NJCAA All-Region 5. Eudor has received a scholarship to continue his collegiate career at Prairie View A&M.

Two EPCC Tejanas softball players have received recognition. Freshman, Maria Olivas was named to the NJCAA All-Region 5 West team. She batted .454 with 59 hits, 11 doubles and 11 home runs. Maria was also named to the WJCAC All-Conference team along with teammate Janel Von Oesen. This is the second year that Janel earned All-Conference honors.
