El Paso's Antonio Escalante Could Head Back to Ring at Haskins Center

Thursday, April 1: Members of Antonio Escalante's camp have told Newschannel 9's Beau Bagley that Antonio Escalante plans another fight to take place in El Paso at the Haskins Center on Friday, May 7. An opponent has yet to be announced, but the fight could be televised on ESPN2's Friday Night Fights. Escalante is 23-2 with 14 knockouts at the Super Bantamweight/Featherweight level. He is currently ranked #3 in the world by WBA, #3 in the world by the WBO, and #4 by the IBF. Escalante recently fought Mickey Roman of Juarez on February 26, 2010 in the Haskins Center, and won in a unanimous decision. Escalante is managed by Golden Boy Promotions and Lester Bedford.
