El Pasoan Jamie Dick is moving up from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series to the Nationwide Series tonight at Kentucky Speedway.

Dick races The Viva Auto Group's #02 Chevy Impala and has qualified to race in his first ever NASCAR Nationwide Series race this evening at the Kentucky Speedway. Dick's father James, owner of The Viva Auto Group, expressed feeling very excited about moving up in the NASCAR racing scheme.

“We’re very excited and blessed to be a part of something so big. We’re stepping up from Camping World Truck Series to the Nationwide Series, and we couldn’t be more excited. He’ll be in a new car at a new track he’s never raced at before, but with the support of his new Crew and Team, we’re sure he’ll represent El Paso well."

Jamie Dick was born in El Paso and went to school here thru Middle School until moving to Albuquerque with his mother. He just graduated from the University of Denver on a full academic scholarship and plans to continue his dreams of being a full time professional NASCAR driver. The race will be televised tonight at 5:30 local time on ESPN.
