U.S. U-17 WNT TO FACE MEXICO FOR BERTH TO WORLD CUP: After winning Group B while scoring 17 goals and allowing zero, the USA will now face Mexico, led by El Pasoans Emily Alvarado and Aylin Villalobos, on Nov. 7 in the semifinal of the CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship for a berth to the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. The USA has two days of rest and regeneration after its 2-0 victory against Canada to win the group on Nov. 4 and will face a Mexico team that finished second in Group A behind Jamaica. The USA-Mexico match will be shown tape delayed on FOX Soccer Plus on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. ET and shown live on FOX Soccer 2GO at 3 pm. ET. All matches are played at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.

ROAD TO THE SEMIFINAL: The group stage of the 2013 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship has ended. Four teams head home and four others will meet in the semifinals with tickets to the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup handed to the winners. The top two finishers of each group cross over; the USA - first in Group B - will face Group A runner-up up Mexico while Group A winner Jamaica faces Group B runner-up Canada. Mexico started off the tournament with a rough 1-1 tie with Haiti - the first ever goal and point for the Haitians in the competition but rebounded with a 7-0 victory against El Salvador before a 1-1 tie with Jamaica that it probably should have won.

GROUP B RECAP: The USA needed a win against Canada to take first place in Group B and got just that with goals from Zoe Redei, her fifth of the tournament, and Mallory Pugh, her third. The Americans played a tremendous overall match and worked hard to create chances against a tough and organized Canadian team that featured an excellent goalkeeper in Rylee Foster, who made several huge saves to keep the score down, including turning away a penalty kick and the follow-up in the waning moments. In the other group match, Guatemala took out some frustration on Trinidad & Tobago, which played a good first 30 minutes against the USA, but then faded, allowing 26 goals over its final 240 minutes, an average of a goal allowed every nine minutes.

FINAL Group B Standings

Trinidad & Tobago 3 0 3 0 0 26 -26 0

GROUP A RECAP: Host Jamaica needed just a tie against Mexico to win Group A and despite being out-shot 22-4, got that tie to win the group with seven points to Mexico's five. Mexico scored early with a goal from Betzy Cuevas in the ninth minute, but Jamaica equalized in stoppage time of the first half through Felicia Davidson and the second half did not feature too many scoring chances for either team. The Haitians were terribly unfortunate as they lost 1-0 to El Salvador on an 89th-minute goal after its goalkeeper missed a clearance and the ball rolled into the net, sparking a wild celebration from the Salvadorians who leave the tournament with that lone goal and three points.
