El Paso Roller Derby Getting Bigger and Better

El Paso Roller Derby (EPRD) will be taking on Tall City Roller Derby (Midland/Marfa/Odessa) (TCRB) on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the The Party Bowl Warehouse (5900 Luckett Ct, El Paso, TX). EPRD’s Tex Pistols will compete against TCRD Bombshell Betties and The Pistol Whip-Hers will be taking on the TCRD Pain Grenades . Doors open at 5:30 pm, bout starts at 6:00 pm.
Second bout starts at 8:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $8 from a derby girl or $10 at the door. Children 10 years of age and under are free with a paying adult, general admission only. This bout is a double header and EPRD’s focused organizations for this month’s bout is the Children’s Hospital, and Reach for a Star El Paso. The girls of EPRD are excited and proud to be working with Reach for a Star where they will grant a critically ill child her wish. Proceeds from from this month's bout will benefit both the Children's Hospital and Reach for a Star El Paso.
EPRD continues their second season with a 1 and 2 victory over Tucson Roller Derby. The league is a skater run and operated league as well as a non-profit organization. The women of El Paso Roller Derby are a diverse group from all walks of life, who are a part of the fast growing sport of roller derby.
EPRD is a modern day roller derby that that promotes athleticism, sportsmanship, and community involvement. The league supports and plays under a nationally recognized rule set. Presently the league has been accepted as an apprentice league and soon to become a member league of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), an international governing body of women’s flat track roller derby that represents over 100 leagues from across the nation.
