The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will highlight another activity during National Parks and Recreation Month as the Department will host the two largest swim meets in the city over the next two weekends..

This weekend, July 12th and 13th the City Swimming Championships for Public Leagues will be at the Pavo Real Aquatic Center, 110 Presa Place. That will be followed on July 19th and 20th with the City Swimming Championships for Private Leagues taking center stage at the same facility.

“Both meets will begin at 8:00 a.m. with over 1400 swimmers between the two meets throughout the city vying to be city champion in various individual and team events during the two week span,” according to Wright Stanton, Aquatics Manger for the City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department.

Admission to either competition is $2 per person. Public swimming will not be allowed at the Pavo Real Aquatic Center either weekend due to the competition.
