Seven-Run Reno Seventh Hurts Chihuahuas Sunday

KTSM
El Paso Chihuahuas

POSTED: Sunday, August 3, 2014 - 11:39pm

UPDATED: Monday, August 4, 2014 - 1:35am

Reno sent 13 batters to the plate in the seventh inning of the Aces 13-7 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Sunday night. The rally plated seven runs and spanned three different El Paso pitchers. Four Aces had three-hit games Sunday, including former San Diego Padre Ronny Cedeno, who went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs.

The Chihuahuas led the game 6-5 after six innings before Reno’s offensive attack. El Paso’s Cody Decker hit his second home run in as many nights Sunday, and finished the game 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Jake Goebbert also homered for El Paso as part of his 2-for-5 day. Goebbert is 15-for-35 since being optioned from San Diego in late July.

Center fielder Rymer Liriano had two hits, including a double, and now has multi-hit games in seven of his ten Triple-A contests. The Chihuahuas have lost two games in a row after winning three of four in their previous series in Las Vegas.
