Triple-A baseball is coming to El Paso...the Chihuahuas begin play this week. They are still at their training site in Peoria, Arizona but begin the PCL season on Thursday in Reno, Nevada. One of the players expected to break camp is Alex Castellanos. He's an outfielder who's been around, drafted by the Cardinals, played with the Dodgers and now trying to work his way to the Padres. Castellanos is coming to El Paso this summer as a Chihuahua, and expects to compete at the Minor League level for a big league spot.

"Go out there to El Paso and play the game I know how to play, great teammates and all... I have one of my other teammates that I played with, the Cardinals Ryan Jackson, so it's going to be fun out there. We'll have a lot of fun, and show the crowd what's up."

The Chihuahuas play four games in Reno then move on to Tacoma. The first home game won't be until April 28, that's 24 games on the road before Southwest University Park is ready for play.
