Chihuahuas snap skid with 16-7 win
El Paso, TX — The El Paso Chihuahuas earned a 16-7 win over the Sacramento River Cats Wednesday night, snapping a 5-game losing streak. Jason Lane pitched six solid innings, giving up seven hits, two earned runs and striking out four. Lane improved to 6-8 on the season, but also helped himself at the plate, filling in at the Designated Hitter role, going 3-3 with a solo home run.
The 16 runs were season highs for the Chihuahuas. Jedd Gyorko was 2-4 with a home run, while Alex Castellanos 4-5 with six RBI.
7:00pm Thursday, El Paso will host Sacramento in the series finale at Southwest University Park.
