UPDATED: Wednesday, May 11, 2011 - 6:33pm

The Eastwood girls golf team is making their 3rd consecutive State Championships appearance.  The team will play the Jimmy Clay Course in Austin on May 12-13 in Austin.  Last season, the Troopers finished 5th, but think they can fare better this year after a 2nd place finish at regionals three weeks ago.

Head Coach John Stovall said, "The experience is definitely a plus, and I think having been there before, knowing what to expect with the course, and we have seen the worst of the weather." Senior Laura Barron added, "It's really exciting, we're motivated to play, we just want to play good, better than last year."  Junior Alexia Heis feels confident about the teams play.  "It's a great opportunity for us and I really feel like we have a good chance at doing well out there."

Also today, Western Texas College signed four Parkland Matadors to play soccer with the Snyder, Texas School:  Dominik Green, Gabriel Chacon, Joel Gomez and Carlos Renteria.
