Diablos win walk off thriller

The Diablos show great fight to comeback and beat the Gary SouthShore RailCats in the ninth inning to take the last game of their three game series against the RailCats.

Sometimes the Diablos play good, sometimes they play bad, but one thing remains constant with this 2013 Squad; and that one thing is fight, the Diablos always have a knack for sticking around and making things interesting, this was a crucial win for the Diablos following back to back losses to the RailCats here at Cohen Stadium.

It was a rough start to the game for the Diablos giving up three runs in the first inning putting them at an early deficit. For much of the first five innings the Diablos looked stagnant on offense like the last two games of the series but suddenly out of know where the Diablo bats got hot scoring four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game, thanks to RBIs from; third baseman Edgar Corcino, first baseman Jonathan Cisneros, and center fielder Mitch Einerston.

After going scoreless for the next two innings the Diablos looked poised to take the lead in the eighth inning, the Diablos had the bases loaded with two outs when Edgar Corcino struck out swinging. The Diablos made up for the missed opportunity thanks to a Brian Joynt single, than a RBI Double from Jonathan Cisneros to win the game.

The Diablos are now 5-10, with the end of their three game home stand, the Diablos go on the road to play a four game series against the Wichita Wingnuts. The Diablos will be home again this Friday to play against the Grand Prairie AirHogs.
