POSTED: Wednesday, July 13, 2011 - 10:12pm

UPDATED: Wednesday, July 13, 2011 - 10:39pm

Shortstop Maikol Gonzalez hit a two-RBI double to left field in the top of the 11th inning to help El Paso top Amarillo 11-9 at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium. Amarillo scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning, but was scoreless during the next five frames while the Diablos took a lead. Trailing El Paso 8-2 in the eighth inning, the Sox scored seven runs in the eighth inning alone to take a 9-8 lead against the Diablos. In the top of the ninth, El Paso tied the score when catcher Alberto Espinosa singled to left field and batted in first baseman Javier Brito. Four different Diablos recorded multiple hits in the game, and second baseman Albenis Machado led El Paso with two hits, one run and three RBI in five at-bats. Both the Diablos and the Sox registered 11 total hits, and second baseman Alex Chavez chipped in two hits, two runs and two RBI in five at-bats for Amarillo. Ray Silva, now 2-1 on the season, earned the win by allowing one hit, no runs and striking out one in 2.2 innings pitched.
