Diablos Win Again

Diablos Win Again
Diablos
Sports
Monday, July 8, 2013 - 10:08pm

In a closely contested game the Diablos come away with another huge win against the Grand Prairie AirHogs, winning 6-5, and taking a 2-1 series lead with one more game to go.

Through the first half of the game it didn’t look like the Diablos would be celebrating back to back wins, quickly going down three runs after the second inning, then down by four runs after the top of the fourth inning. The Diablos had a remarkable response though, striking four six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a two run lead.

After the Diablos took a two run lead, they only surrendered one more run for the rest of the game, the key to the Diablos win tonight was once again relief pitching, what has failed them in the past contributed to their second straight win.

To go along with a shutout by the Diablos relief pitching was the AirHogs defense making five costly errors that were the main contributor to the Diablos scoring success, the AirHogs actually out hit the Diablos 8-5.

The Diablos are now 13-38 this season with one more game against the Grand Prairie AirHogs in their four game series, tomorrow night the Diablos have a chance to win their second series of the season, starting at 7:05 Tuesday at Cohen Stadium.
