In the last home meeting against the Grand Prairie AirHogs, the Diablos took game one, winning 8-5 in a game filled with late inning drama.

Both teams came out swinging, with the score at the end of the first inning in favor of the Diablos 3-2. Through the first four innings the Diablos had a commanding 7-4 lead, the Diablos bested the AirHogs in every major category; runs, hits, and errors, as they were poised to take the game.

With an 8-5 lead in the top of the ninth inning, things got interesting as the Diablos tried to close out the AirHogs. The AirHogs loaded the bases with one out, and were looking to tie the game. Then the Diablos made the play of the game, forcing a double play to win the game. There were two outstanding Diablos tonight; right fielder Welington Dotel and shortstop Maikol Gonzalez who both had three hits tonight.

The Diablos are now 23-47 this season with two more games against the Grand Prairie AirHogs in their three game series. A win tomorrow night would give the Diablos the series win, the game starts at 7:05 here at Cohen Stadium!
